"Undo" Disables MyComputerCop

If you are a parent, administrator, school teacher or supervisor, you likely have under your care and control persons who you seek to protect from pornography and other non-suitable internet content. Obviously it is not in your interest to make widely available your administrative login and password nor the "Undo" feature.

  1. The Program Group for My Computer Cop includes an administrative "deactivate" (Undo) function. For this reason the Program Group default installation makes this available to only the user who installed the software.

  2. While installing the software, do not adjust the default installation unless you have a very specific intent and know how to implement that. As you read this, should you feel that you have already made an error in this respect, the fix is simple. Delete the misplaced Program Group from your start menu by right clicking it and selecting "delete". Then reinstall the software from the correct login and allow the default placement of the Program Group.

  3. In any operating system using the NT File System (NTFS is used in Windows NT / 2000 and XP and is planned for upcoming versions and offsprings of these.) it is not possible for a user with only "user" rights to install or undo this application.Make certain that you have assigned the correct user rights (in User Manager) for each user.

  4. Windows 95, 98, SE and ME do not use NTFS and therefore any user can disable My Computer Cop's blocking features. Consequently it is important on these systems to hide the Program Group's "Undo" link. If your computer has only one login and you wish to avoid having your other users (perhaps your 'nefarious-surfer teenagers' or 'inquisitive 7-year-old') disable your censorship, you should delete the "Undo" link from the Program Group. And please feel free to contact Supportb @  MyComputerCop.com if you feel you need any assistance in implementing this software.
