Additional Security Pointers

Do use your favourite virus scanner and firewall and make certain it's pattern files are up-to-date.

Do install this program using an administrative login.

Do check for the latest version of your browser and e-mail client.

Don't leave your computer unattended without logging off first.

Do use MyComputerCop's "Sync. System Time" tool to keep your computer running at the right date and time. (You must be connected to the internet to use this tool.

Do check regularly for free updates of your version of MyComputerCop by visiting
Your password and username are required. (Password is your order number and your email address is your username.) 

It is important that your Windows operating system be up to date with the help of Windows Update. Your browser is a crucial, integrated part of Windows. Check it for updates.

A virus discovered in mid-June 2003, TrojanDownloader.Win32.Checkin.b and a number of its variants are designed to attack MyComputerCop and disable its function  each time Windows is restarted in "Normal" mode.
To foil the effect of this virus, you are strongly urged to check your machine constantly with a virus scanner. If you believe your machine is infected, after each time Windows is restarted, reinvoke MCC and do not reboot your machine  as part of the reinstallation.

Next run a virus scan using your antivirus software or visit for an excellent online scan of your system.
